Doris Driscoll from Merthyr Tydfil received a lovely unexpected gift of two handbags recently from designer, Julien Macdonald – how amazing is that! What a lovely gift to receive from the actual man himself! The story didn’t begin so happily though but it certainly ended nicely! Read on to find out what happened to Doris.
One evening Doris Driscoll was on her way home from a fantastic evening of playing bingo. She was with her granddaughter, aged 18, and all was well. Suddenly a drunken man approached Doris and stole her beautiful designer handbag. It was one of her favourite possessions and she would have been absolutely gutted to lose it like that in a mugging. Amazingly, her brave granddaughter gave chase and got the bag back but it was a close shave.
A short while later the handbag’s designer, Julien Macdonald heard about the story and decided to make contact with Doris Driscoll himself. He sent her a gift of two superb handbags from his designer range along with a handwritten note. Doris was over the moon and this more than made up for that nasty attempted mugging. She isn’t letting the mugging spoil her bingo evenings either. She goes regularly to the bingo and she just loves it.
